Practical Activity 01
Create a new Google Data Studio report

  1. Name the report Practical Activity

  2. Create a header for the report with a title

Create the following Scorecard visualizations

  1. Sessions with optional metrics for Number of Sessions per user and % New Sessions

  2. Users with optional metrics for New Users

  3. Average Session Duration

  4. Pages / Session

Add a new Date filter to the report

For each Scorecard set the comparison to previous period

  1. View the report

  2. Change the Date filter to:

  3. Last 14 days

  4. Last month

  5. Last year

Open the Practical Activity report

  1. Create a table displaying Users by Page Title

Add metrics for

  1. Avg. Session Duration

  2. Pages / Session

  3. Use a heatmap to display the Avg. Session Duration

  4. Use a bar to display the Pages / Session

Create a new table displaying Session by Sources

  1. Create running total for Sessions

  2. Create a new table displaying Users by Default Channel Group

  3. Make the table interactive

Experiment by selecting different Channels

  2. Create a new page in the report

  3. Create a Time Series graph for the number of New Users

  4. Add a Date filter to the report

  5. Add a cumulative graph for the Time Series graph

  6. Add a date comparison to the graph for the previous period

  7. Create a new graph to display Users by Year and Month for this Year

  8. Create a new graph to display Users by Day of the Week – change the style to display a column graph

  1. Create a new report

  2. Name the report – Google Analytics Dashboard

  3. Create a connection to the Sample Google Analytics data connection or to your own web site data
